Maybe you are just very good.Click here to set your flair! Welcome to /r/TotalWar!Ī subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. I think the AI is not stupid at all, especially not when you play on normal or hard. Well, when I could find disappointed people in a steam-forum, they were usually so angry that they could not be objective enough. Imo, Steam forums are one of the best places to get a variety of opinions, perhaps not as detailed as Steam reviews, but specific questions can get answered for curious people.
TOTAL WAR ROME 2 PRICE MODS
I can only recommend the game with mods and multiplayer, with the current price point, otherwise I wouldn't do so, and haven't many times. I literally cannot play this game in singleplayer, the AI is too stupid to present any sort of challenge (When you can hold a walled city with three levy pikemen units against 2k elite units, theres a problem). Gaming Mags are a terrible source for any real reviews, the game has to be a complete trainwreck to get below a 70/100 review. So you will meet probably 98% people who like this game.Īctually I find pretty much the opposite to be true, that when people are disappointed in a game, the best place to find them is in the Steam forums. Originally posted by Éclaireur:What I was trying to say is, people who visit this forum play the game, and people who play the game, obviously like it. Because there you will openly find POSITIVE and NEGATIVE reviews, while here you will mostly find positive-reviews-answers.īut I was just trying to give you an advice, so the information you gather are 100% neutral and correct. The best thing to do is, to read the reviews and maybe google for some reviews by gaming-magazines. So you will meet probably 98% people who like this game. What I was trying to say is, people who visit this forum play the game, and people who play the game, obviously like it. Aside from the official forum there is no better place to ask this question and get legitimate feedback. Sadly it's often difficult to find specific reviews on a game that has received a years worth of patches unless it's a MMO. Passionate and disgruntled players will often have opposing but valid views on the subject. I think it makes more sense to ask a forum of players if they think the game is worth the price and effort verse asking gamers who have no previous experience. Kind of pointless asking in a games forum where people obviously own the game already.someone who checks the forum also plays the game, at least most of the time.īut to answer your question. There seems to be some fierce debate on the "best" TW game but I'm rather drawn to the Roman time period.Īs the title suggests, is Rome 2 worth the money and time or should I just pass? Originally posted by Army Pea:I am aware of the horrible state that Rome 2 launched in but I have also heard that its in a much better state. If you are into strategy games you do yourself a disservice not picking them up for that price. Right now Rome II is available for 75% off, you can buy the Total War Master Collection Sept 2014 for $29 which includes Rome II, Shogun II, Napoleon, Empire and more. It is also far from being the worst in the series, thats just nonsense it progressed in leaps and bounds post release, CA worked on it for over a year adding patches to get it to the state it is now.įurthermore, the mods are well developed and assuming you grow tired of Vanilla you can start looking at the mods tailoring your experience more to your liking. Right now 8k playing Attila and more than 11k playing Rome II despite the fact Attila is just a year old.Įven if you have not played others in the series, and in spite of some of the comments above, assuming you are not an idiot Rome II is not hard to pick up and play, if you struggle with some concepts, you can always view umpteen vids over on YouTube.

Even now with Attila fans trying to secure a free l c instead of paying for it, there are more people playing Rome II. Just take a look at which title is being played most. All I am seeing so far is mostly bad advice.
